Few collectors would have thought that they'd ever see a legal tender coin struck by a Commonwealth nation with the Queen of England on one side and the Playboy Bunny on the other side.  Yet here is is!  Yes, that's right -- the Cook Islands in cooperation with Playboy Magazine celebrated this event on a $1 coin!  The set offered here includes all three versions of that special dollar plus an extra dollar to show the obverse of the coin.
The first coin in the set is plated with pure 24 karat gold over pure silver and weighs one-ounce, the second coin is the seldom-seen pure silver issue which also weighs one-ounce and the third and fourth coins (lower row) represent the pure gold over standard metal versions that weigh 26.5 grams each.  All coins feature reeded edges and are 39 mm in diameter.
This is the first time the Cook Islands has ever issued a gold plated a $1 coin but it was deemed fitting since this was Playboy's "Golden Anniversary."  The pure silver coin (with no gold plating) was an afterthought, suggested by yours truly and ultimately produced to satisfy the demand of finicky silver crown collectors who might prefer an unadulterated pure silver version.  The gold over standard metal type was the "economy" version intended for mass marketing, which was never actually introduced into the Playboy marketing plan.  It is virtually undetectable from the gold over silver version except that it weighs less and has a slightly darker golden-orange color.  The official mintage for each coin was set at 50,000 pieces.
This is the only complete proof set assemblage with all the types in a single collection (which, of course, also comes with an extra dollar to show the obverse).  It comes packaged in a special presentation box with certificates of authenticity for each coin, featuring a hologram of the Playboy Bunny!

2003 Cook Islands
George W. Bush / Tony Blair
"Leaders Of The Free World"

Commemorative Silver Dollar

Struck by the London Mint, Ltd.

Two Brave Men stood up against the carping criticism of our "Supposed Allies" in the United Nations and leftist Hollywood Personalities -- to do the right thing.  They led a coalition of brave fighting men and women to a stunning victory over the true "Forces of Evil".  The discovery of the Killing Fields and the Torture Chambers of Iraq stand as a grim testament to this humanitarian effort -- an effort that was noble and right!
George W. Bush and Tony Blair, emerged from this incredible effort as the true "Leaders of the Free World".
Pictured above is the new British Commonwealth Legal Tender Commemorative Coin that has been issued by the Cook Islands to honor these two outstanding men.
This is a flawless "cameo" proof strike; the backgrounds are perfect reflective "blazing-mirrors" (which show up jet-black in scans) and the designs are frosty white (which, of course show up white in scans).  The contrast between the mirror-like backgrounds and design is stunning!  It weighs 28.26 grams, is struck in .999 pure silver and measures 38.61 mm (a bit larger than a U.S. silver dollar).     Add this one to your collection today!

The coin comes packaged with a Certificate Of Authenticity

Official Issue Price $29.95
(Optional Presentation Box & Capsule - Add $5.00)

60th Anniversary Of The D-Day Landing
Commemorative Dollar

Struck by the London Mint, Ltd.

The Normandy Invasion, codenamed Overlord, began on 6th June 1944.  After a month-long air offensive and an allied plan of deception which fooled Hitler into believing that the main attack would come in Pas de Calais, where he held back a powerful armored division, the largest amphibious landing in history got underway.  In the early hours of 6th June, Allied airborne troops landed to seize control of strategic bridges and coastline defenses on the flanks of the invasion zone.  The first Allied troops came ashore at 6:30pm.  By midnight on 6th June, 57,500 US and 75,000 British and Canadian troops had landed in Normandy.  By 25th August 1944 Paris had been liberated by these brave allied soldiers.
Pictured above is the new British Commonwealth Legal Tender Commemorative Coin that has been issued by the Cook Islands to honor this event.  Featured on it's reverse is an outstanding rendition of the landing.
